I make records with open-minded artists who like to follow their intuition. My roles shift depending on what the work calls for: sometimes I’m a producer, sometimes an engineer, sometimes somewhere in between. What stays constant is my commitment to deep listening, to hearing what an artist is reaching for, reflecting it back, and creating the space for something unexpected.
After twenty years of collaborative music-making on Canada’s East Coast, I’ve come to believe that the best work isn’t defined by polish or precision. It’s defined by surprise, the kind that happens when an artist exceeds what they thought possible.
